3 Tips to Wearing Spring’s Tribal/Military Trend, from Senior Stylist Morgan

This look epitomizes the tribal/military hybrid seen in many of the spring collections, and it’s actually really easy to wear. Dress it up with heels and chunky beads, or down with flat sandals and a belt. This is a piece for this summer’s Ultimate Closet.
This look balances color: the tank is similar in tone to the shirt, while a little skin and a solid belt transition into a richer tone. The pieces blend the masculine and the feminine, the hard and the soft. It’s a great example of why tribal and military work, because it’s not too much of any one thing.
Don’t be intimidated by these pants! Stick with neutrals and balance out your proportions—keep the look nipped at the waist and go with a cuffed half sleeve. A caged sandal is just right. I really love the simplicity of this look; the print is the star.
