Epaulet has Melissa Plastic Dreams, United Nude, Zaha Hadid and Toms! Como se dice “hip” en fashion? Epaulet es muy de moda! (I should be saying this in Portuguese since Melissa is a Brazilian company, but despite having taken one year of it, my Portuguese is even rustier than my Spanish).
Not only that, but Melissa is muy environmental as well. All the shoes are 100 percent recyclable, the production is supposedly fair and sustainable and the factory has almost zero waste. The company “supports many social and environmental programmes in Brazil,” according to Treehugger.com. So you can feel good about your purchase!
But how are they made? According to Treehugger.com, “the ‘plastic’ shoes are made via injection molds, of a special material, melflex, a mono-material which can be dissassembled and recycled.” So basically, they make the shapes of the shoes and then pour the melflex in to take the shape and solidify. Cool stuff.
Agyness Deyn has modeled for Melissa in Latin America. Only she could carry off an outfit this kooky. Any other woman would wear those red shoes with a black dress. I admire her but wouldn’t be caught dead in the Rubix cube muff thing.

The famous Zaha Hadid shoes are awesome. I have wanted them for what feels like millennia. They are $200.
The Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon Orb and my favorite, the Lady Dragon Stamp, are $149.
The VW Lady Dragon Heart is also $149.
The VW Three Straps Elevated is $160.
The Melissa Campana Corallo is $79.
