Spring 2010 Trend to Wear Now: Khaki
Lulu's Fashion | lulus | December 26, 2009Oh the weather outside is fittingly frightful (see freezing rain), but in my fashion-addled brain, spring is afoot. Signs of a new season? Styles that define the safari-meets-military look (one of my favorites) seen on the spring 2010 runways are starting to arrive. And, unlike some of the more temperature-dependent spring fashion trends, there are plenty of khaki pieces to wear now.
The detachable knit lining and all-season neutral make this leather Theory jacket the ultimate transition piece (there’s always a point in March when my black Elizabeth and James feels too severe), while Juicy Couture’s utilitarian boot is great now with J Brand jean leggings and a grandpa cardigan and later with a T by Alexander Wang dress. Speaking of fashion’s resident wunderkind, if you’re still trying to figure out what to wear for New Year’s Eve, the thoroughly original burnt caramel hue of this Alexander Wang dress guarantees you won’t get lost in a sea of LBDs when you bid adieu to 2009.
