Making an appearance at the 2010 Golden Globes, Bryce Dallas Howard attends the InStyle and Warner Bros. after party held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on January 17. B appears to be working a vintage glam look inspired by her character in her latest flick, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, out in select theaters now. Looking lovely on the post-show purple carpet, Bryce chose a black printed dress with delicate beaded straps (for long black dress options, try Lotta Stensson’s 2 Layer Best Dress in Black or Sue Wong’s Beaded Halter Long Gown in Black) embellished with loooong black wrap necklaces (layer Sisco Family Jewels’ Black Spinel Wrap in Multi or Elizabeth Gillett’s Jersey Flapper Necklace in Black). As a finishing touch, B carried a beaded clutch (try one of Moyna Handbags’ in demand designs, like the Snap Closure Beaded Clutch in Metal Pewter). While I love long dresses, I’d have to see this one in person to truly decide if I like it or not – it’s a little messy with the distressed print, tons of necklaces and chain strap slipping off her shoulder. Still, I can’t help but love that Bryce lives such a low-key life, yet never fails to shine on the red carpet. This dress isn’t particularly amazing, but her glowing smile and glossy locks could make a potato sack look good… as the new designers on tonight’s episode of Project Runway were challenged to do! Not to change the subject, but what are you readers thinking of this season so far? Back to BDH, as I mentioned at the beginning she is currently starring in The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, adapted from a Tennessee Williams novel of the same name. At the after party she chatted with MTV about how excited she was for the role (which she was offered after Lindsay Lohan dropped out, if you can wrap your mind around that one): “I don’t know what it is, but in the past, I haven’t been a part of things that I can get really nervous or intimidated. This was the first time I was a little concerned before doing it, because I was like, ‘Oh my goodness. It’s originating a Tennessee Williams heroine. If I mess it up, it’s like literary blasphemy. It would be tragic.’” So far her worst fears aren’t coming true – have any of you had a chance to check out the new drama?
